We have a rule in my house
No cooking without music. Even when I’m exhausted (or maybe especially when I’m exhausted) it makes the experience 10x more fun.
The kitchen is such a sensory place: the heat, the smells, the flavors. It only makes sense to enrich the space with music. When I was growing up, my favorite part of making dinner was my mom putting on Aretha Franklin or the Eagles. We’d sing our little hearts out.
Now that I’m an adult, my girlfriend and I play music in the kitchen every day. I’ve realized that as much as I love to cook, doing it without songs to bop to can make it feel like a chore. But adding music is such a simple way to romanticize and elevate daily life — and it works every time. Chef’s kiss 🤌
